DISCOVER Quintessential Mozart
Sunday, November 14, 2010, 3:00 pm
Dorothy Young Center for the Arts
The Concert Hall at Drew University, Madison, NJ

This concert will feature Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s lyrical Quintet for Clarinet and Strings, K. 581, one of the earliest and best-known works especially written for the clarinet. Many will recognize the poignant use of this music in the final episode of M*A*S*H on television. The theme and variation movement will be examined in the first half of the program, and the entire work will be performed after intermission. TDO Concertmaster Peter Winograd, along with the other members of the American String Quartet and clarinetist Stephen Williamson, will join Maestro Maull as they explore and perform Mozart's lyrical composition.
