The Discovery Orchestra Receives KearnyBank Foundation Grant

SUMMIT, New Jersey – The Discovery Orchestra was presented with a $1,000 grant from the KearnyBank Foundation today. This grant will help sponsor the Orchestra’s upcoming Black History Month event on February 23, Discover Angelitos Negros, a program celebrating African American and Latino classical music traditions. The event will be held at Grace Church in Newark.

The Orchestra applied for the grant from the KearnyBank Foundation, which supports non-profit organizations that provide community betterment through the arts.

“The Discovery Orchestra’s interactive program format gives patrons opportunities to actively listen to classical music, rather than simply hear it. Whether through live events or digital media, we are so pleased that these types of educational listening experiences are accessible to audiences both locally in New Jersey and worldwide,” said Rick Kaller, Executive Director of the Orchestra. “We are thrilled to have community partners like the KearnyBank Foundation who see the community value in our mission and work.”
