“Meet the Archduke” on our Radio Show

Beethoven dedicated a number of works to his friend, student, and (perhaps most importantly) patron Archduke Rudolph of Austria, who was 18 years younger than the composer.  In fact,due to the dedication, Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-Flat major, Op. 97, came to be known in musical circles simply as the Archduke Trio. Maestro Maull thought about naming this episode of Inside Music A Beethoven You Might Not Have Met Before …for reasons he will disclose in this episode!
