Have you been waiting all your life to stand in front of an orchestra? Have you reserved your spot at our Patrons’ Dinner at Drew University this Sunday, April 19th? If so, you’re in business! Back in the day when we held our Annual Viennese Ball, one of the most popular items in the live auction was the opportunity to Conduct The Orchestra in the Radetzky March by Johann Strauss, Sr.

At our 2014 Patrons’ Dinner we decided to revive this tradition. 2014 Winner Tina Mulhare will be taking the baton to lead The Discovery Orchestra in the March during this Sunday’s Discover the Magic of Mozart Discovery Concert featuring an exploration of Mozart’s Overture to The Magic Flute. Those attending the Dinner after the concert can bid on this once in a lifetime opportunity during our live auction, to be redeemed at our spring 2016 Discovery Concert!

Also, for our Dinner guests this Sunday, you might consider a live auction bid on a personal guided tour of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21. The winner and three guests will experience Pianist Jeffrey Kahane and the New York Philharmonic perform Mozart’s most loved piano concerto at Lincoln Center. The 4 Orchestra Seats in Avery Fisher Hall will afford you an excellent view of the performance. I’ll personally ‘prepare your ears’ ahead of time and we’ll enjoy dinner together before the concert. I promise lots of anecdotes!

Or perhaps you’d like a Walk-On Role in the televised version of our listening course, Fall in Love with Music. This opportunity will be offered during our live auction as well. Fall in Love with Music will be recorded for American Public Television this coming June and July. Imagine being seen by millions of viewers nationwide! This is your chance.

And for those who cannot attend on Sunday, you don’t have to feel left out. We’ve boldly embraced 21st century technology and are thrilled to present our first online Silent Auction for your enjoyment! Items include tickets to our Discover the Fiddle in-home event in June, a private tour of the White House and Capitol Building, and a Brazilian cooking class. It’s easy to bid, simply click here.
